Doughnuts

Ingredients

1 pouch (375g) PK Foods Flour Mix

440 fl or 15 fl ozs Warm water

1 tsp Granulated sugar

1 ½ tsp Fast acting dried yeast

Method

1. Pre heat fryer to 375 °F or 180 °F.

2. In a mixing bowl dissolve sugar in the warm water, add the yeast and stir well. Leave to stand for 10 minutes.

3. Stir well to remove bubbles, add the P.k.u mix to yeast mixture and stir until mix is just moistened.

4. Using a mixer beat the batter for 2 minutes at low speed.

5. 500g – 1lb – 2 oz chopped fruit, (apples, bananas and peaches) can be added at this stage, if desired.

6. Let batter rise in bowl in a warm place until doubled in volume.

7. Deep fry by dropping spoonfuls of the mix into the vegetable oil. Cook approximately for 2 minutes on each side. The doughnuts will be golden brown.

8. Remove from fat, drain on a kitchen towel. Toss doughnuts into caster sugar, remove and allow to cool.
